TriviaThe word “mandarin” derives from “mandara”, which is the name given to the tangerine plant on the French island Réunion. This place was necessary to complete the final leg of tangerine’s journey from Far East to Europe, where it finally came, first in Malta as a botanical curiosity and later in Sicily, where it found the perfect climate.
